We have officially closed out the 2024-2025 school year with our 2nd Annual edition of “The Cornies”! Now you might be thinking, “what the heck is the Cornies?”, it’s only the most prestigious award given by a podcast located in Mount Sterling! Being a podcast, we don’t have a publication to release an “All-State/Region” type of team, but we wanted to come up with a way to highlight these coaches and student-athletes, that’s when Sean came up with “The Cornies”. Now, that’s out of the way we had 9 categories and we recently gave away those awards. Here’s the 9 categories and the winners:
Boys Coach of the Year – Jason Mays Montgomery County
Girls Coach of the Year– Robbie Graham GRC
Male Athlete of the Year– Montana Brashear Bath County
Female Athlete of the Year– Shalyne Baker
People’s Champ Award– Bath County
Dawg of the Year– Brevon Ricker Menifee County
Moment of the Year– Cayden Reed GW buzzer beater 10th Region Championship
Team of the Year– GRC Lady Cards
MVP– Cayden Reed
