Meet New Bath County OC Seth Miller

Dead period is officially over, and with that comes the start of football season! Coach Brandon Brewer is heading into his 2nd season on “The Hill”, and with that comes a couple additions on his coaching staff. Last season, Coach Brewer and the Wildcats finished 3-8, with 3 of those losses being one score games! This year Coach Brewer has decided to hand the offense over to coach Seth Miller! Coach Miller is coming from Boone Grove High School, which is a high school in Indiana. Coach Miller’s offense saw his QB Mark Rowland throw for over 6,000 career yards and 100 career TDs, along with also coaching 2 All-State WR’s! Boone Grove’s offense averaged 43 PPG last season which ranked inside the top 10 in 3A for the state of Indiana! Now that you know, some details here is some other things to know about Coach Miller!

What was your title at Boone Grove and how long have you been coaching there?

Coach Miller: “I was the OC for the last 5 years. I also was the strength and conditioning coach for the high school. During my time as the Offensive Coordinator we ran a spread system and I coached the QBs and WRs. Our QB threw for over 6,000+ Career Passing yards and had over 100 Career TDs (Signed to play at Muskingum University). I was able to coach up 2 All-State WRs as well (Signed to play at Muskingum University & Trine University). I was able to get BGs offense to be top 10 in the state in scoring at the 3A level (43 points per game).”

What brought you to Bath County?

Coach Miller: “After this past season – My wife, Dominique, who played D1 basketball at Ohio University, got a job as the associate head coach for Morehead State University. So she moved us down to Kentucky. Following that I accepted a job as the OC at Bath County Under HC Brandon Brewer. I am looking forward to the challenge as Bath County had some rougher seasons in the past but Coach Brewer has this program turning around. I want to be able to help the school, community, and kids in any way that I can.”

What kind of offense can fans expect to see on “The Hill” on Friday nights?

Coach Miller: “I want to bring some fun back into the game a bring the new style of offensive to the program. We have married an offense that brings a lot of my spread principles with his (coach Brewer) run game. We have a lot of young players who will be able to execute our system pretty well.”

Who are some players early on that as a coaching staff you all are expecting big things from?

Coach Miller: “Our QB Walker Karrick is looking to have a solid JR campaign while JR Parker Crouch is returning at our RB spot. JR WR Logan Jones should also have another big season for us in this new system. Up front SR Brooks Stanton is ready to carry the load for us on the Offensive and Defensive line.

While his picture might look like he was right off the set of the TV series “Friday Night Lights”, one thing is for sure he is a young, energetic coach that everybody on “The Hill” is going to LOVE! I hope Scott Hamilton is warming up his voice, because we’ve got a feeling that he’s going to be saying “TOUCHDOWN WIIIIILLLLDDDDCATS” quite a bit this upcoming season!

Until next time,
